Backpacker to Lombok Island of Indonesia

There are 3 islands (gili) in the neighbourhood. They are Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, and Gili Meno. That day my friends and I went to Gili Trawangan. In Gili Trawangan we must not ride vehidule which using machine. We only can walk, take bicycle, or take traditional horse cart ride (cidomo). That day we decided to walk around the Gili Trawangan.

When we were tired of walking, we sat near the beach. And then I practiced playing Nunchaku and my friend recorded my action.

Ada 3 pulau (gili) disini yaitu, Gili trawangan, Gili air, dan Gili Meno. Hari itu kami pergi ke Gili Trawangan. Nah di Gili Trawangan ini dilarang siapapun untuk menggunakan kendaraan bermesin. Disini kita hanya bisa berjalan kaki, bersepeda, atau menggunakan kereta kuda tradisional (cidomo). Hari itu kami memutuskan untuk berjalan kaki memutari Gili Trawangan.

Ketika kami lelah, kami duduk di pinggir pantai sambil makan snack dan minum. Kemudian saya bermain Nunchaku dan teman saya mem video nya.

TURTLES of Gili Trawangan - Kura-Kura di Gili Trawangan - Backpacker to Lombok Island Indonesia

From Bangsal port, we took public boat to get to Gili Trawangan island. The journey was about 20 minutes. In Gili Trawangan, it is not alowwed any kind of vehicule using machine in here. So we can only walking, cycling, or riding traditional horse cart ride (cidomo). 

In the middle of the way, I saw a traditional house and I went there. when I came in I just realised that it's not a house, it's turtle conservation. The Lombok people in Gili Trawangan built a turtle conservation because they concern to the Turtles. The people here the took care of the turtles from the egg. After 1 or 2 years, they will release the turtles to the sea.

If you have concern to the Turtle Conservation there, you may give some donation.

Untuk menuju Pulau Gili Trawangan, kami naik kapal boat dari dermaga Bangsal. Perjalanan diatas kapal boat menuju ke Gili Trawangan sekitar 20 menit. Pulau Gili Trawangan ini sangat memeperhatikan sekali dengan polusi udara. Disini dilarang segala macam kendaraan yang menggunakan mesin. Jadi kita hanya bisa berjalan kaki, bersepeda, atau naik kereta kuda (cidomo). 

Ditengah perjalanan, saya tertarik melihat sebuah atap tradisional di kejauhan. Setelah saya masuk, ternyata itu bukan rumah, melainkan tempat penyelamatan kura-kura (konservasi). Orang-orang Lombok di pulau ini sangat peduli dengan kehidupan kura-kura yang mulai punah. Oleh karena itu mereka merawat kura-kura dari mulai telur. Kemudian setelah berumur sekitar 1 sampai 2 tahun, kura-kura tersebut akan dilepaskan menuju habitatnya di laut.

Jika anda peduli dengan keberlangsungan hidup dari kura-kura ini, sumbangan anda walau sedikit sudah cukup membantu dalam pemeliharaan kura-kura ini.

Backpacker Diary to Lombok Island Indonesia

After spending the time in Gili Trawangan, we decided to go out from the island. There 2 kinds of boat here. Public boat and Fast boat. Public boat can load 35 people and the ticket cost cheaper. The fast boat, we don't need to wait for other people to come, we can just go immediately, but the ticket cost more expensive.

My friends and I bought ticket for the public boat. After waiting for other people (35), the boat sailed. That day I sat on the front deck, because I wanted to have an experience sitting on the front deck. The journey to Bangsal port was about 20 minutes

Just an information. After we arrived to Gili Trawangan, we must ask the ticket seller, what time the last boat will sail. Because if we miss the last boat, we have to stay there untill the next day.

Setelah menikmati waktu di Pulau Gili Trawangan,, kami memutuskan untuk segera pulang. Ada 2 jenis kapal boat yang bisa kita naiki untuk keluar dari pulau tersebut. Public Boat, yaitu kapal boat umum, bisa mengangkut sekitar 35 orang, dan harga tiket nya lebih murah. Fast boat, adalah kapal boat cepat. Kapal ini tidak harus menunggu sampai penuh penumpangnya, tetapi harga tiketnya lumayan mahal.

Kami memutuskan untuk menggunakan kapal boat umum. Hari itu saya ingin sekali menikmati perjalanan dengan duduk di dek depan. Perjalanan kapal boat ini sekitar 20 menit.

Sebagai informasi, jika kita sampai di Gili Trawangan, kita harus segera bertanya kepada petugas tiket, kapan kapal boat terakhir akan berangkat. Jika kita terlambat, sudah bisa dipastikan kita harus bermalam di Pulau Gili Trawangan untuk menunggu kapal boat di kemudian hari.

Backpacker Diary to Lombok Island Indonesia.

Ater taking the public boat from Bangsal Port, we arrived to Gili Trawangan island. There are 3 Gili (island) in this neighbourhood. They are Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, and Gili Meno. 

In Gili Trawangan island, we must not ride any kind of vehicule which using machine. We can only ride a bicycle, walking, or take Cidomo (horse cart ride). No pollution here, so the air is so fresh. 

For food, don't worry, in this place we can find even traditional or international food here. For tourist attraction, we can do snorkeling, kayaking, banana boat, diving, etc. Some times we can have a boat party.

Setelah naik kapal boat dari pelabuhan Bangsal, kami sampai di Pulau Gili Trawangan. Ad 3 pulau Gili disini, yaitu Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, dan Gili Meno.

Di Gili Trawangan, semua orang dilarang untuk menggunakan kendaraan bermesin. Jadi kita hanya bisa berjalan kaki, naik sepeda, atau naik kereta kuda (cidomo). Jadi disini udaranya bersih dari polusi udara.

Untuk makanan, jangan takut, disini tersedia makanan dengan cita rasa tradisional maupun internasional. Untuk kegiatan turistik, ada menyelam, snorkeling, bermain perahu kayak, banana boat, dan lain-lain. Kadang-kadang ada pesta bikini di kapal boat di tengah laut.

BOAT to GILI TRAWANGAN Island - Suasana Kapal Boat Ke Gili Trawangan Lombok - Backpacker to Lombok Island Indonesia

Day 2

Backpacker Diary to Lombok Island Indonesia.

After visiting Malimbu Beach, we continued the journey to Bangsal harbor. This is the place for us to park our motorcycle. To get to Gili trawangan island, we had to take a boat. There are 2 kinds of boats. Public boat and fast Boat. Public boat, it cost cheaper. The public boat can carry about 35 people. Sometimes we have to wait for other people to join us in the boat. For Fast boat, we don't need to wait for other people. We can just hire the fast boat and go to Gili Trawangan Island immediately, but it cost more expensive.

After we bought ticket for the public boat, we had to wait other people. After 35 people, the public boat would sail to Gili Trawangan. The journey was about 15 - 20 minutes. Just information, If we don't want our trousers or shorts get wet, we should bring a paper or something that we can sit on it. Because sometimes the bench is wet because some people step on it wearing wet sandals.

Hari 2

Diari Backapacker ke Pulau Lombok.

Setelah mengunjungi Pantai Malimbu, kami meneruskan perjalanan menuju ke dermaga Bangsal. Dari dermaga ini kami akan menuju Pulau Gili Trawangan. Untuk menuju Pulau Gili Trawangan, ada 2 cara, yaitu menggunakan Public Boat atau Fast Boat.

Public boat ini harganya relatif murah, tetapi kita harus menunggu sekitar 35 orang baru kapal akan berangkat. Untuk Fast Boat, kita tidak perlu menunggu lama, setelah kita bayar tiket fast Boat kita bisa langsung berangkat, tetapi harganya lumayan mahal.

Setelah memarkir kendaraan, kemudian kami membeli tiket kapal public boat. Setelah itu kami menunggu kapal penuh sekitar 35 orang. Kemudian kapal segera berangkat.

Sekedar informasi, jika teman-teman tidak ingin celanya basah, kita harus membawa alas duduk, seperti kardus atau koran. karena biasanya bangku tempat duduk basah oleh sandal para penumpang yang basah.

MALIMBU BEACH - Suasana Pantai Malimbu Pulau Lombok - Backpacker to Lombok Island Indonesia

Day 2

Backpacker Diary to Lmbok Island Indonesia.

After visiting Sengigi beach my friends and I continued the journey to Malimbu Beach. This beach is still original (virgin). We will not find any hotels here. This place is a good spot to do snorkeling and fishing. Sometime if we are lucky, we can see some turtles around the beach. From this place we can see The Gili islands (Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, Gili Air) far away.

Around the street, we can find some people are selling green coconut and chicken satay. While watching the view of The Malimbu beach, we can drink green coconut and eat chicken satay.

Hari ke 2

Diari Backpacker ke Pulau Lombok,

Setelah mengunjungi pantai Senggigi, kami meneruskan perjalanan menuju Pantai Malimbu. Kami berhenti di atas pantai Malimbu. Dari sini kita bisa melihat pemandangan sekitar Pantai Malimbu yang indah.

Pantai Malimbu ini masih orisinil karena tidak ada hotel disini. Ditempat ini kita bisa melakukan snorkeling dan juga memancing. Dan jika kita cukup beruntung, kita bisa melihat kura-kura berenang di pantai ini.

Di sekitar jalan ini, kita bisa menemukan penjual kelapa muda dan sate ayam. Jadi sambil istirahat dan menikmati keindahan pantai Malimbu, kita bisa mencicipi sate ayam dan kelapa muda disini.

SENGGIGI BEACH - Keindahan Pantai Sengigi Pulau Lombok - Backpacker to Lombok Island Indonesia

Backpacker Diary to Lombok Island 2nd day.

After we visited the chinese cemetery of Ampenan city Lombok, we continued our journey to Sengigi beach. We stoped our motorcycle on the hill. It was the best spot to watch the Sengigi Beach from the top.

From the top, Sengigi beach was so beautiful. A lot of coconut tress, with the blue sea down there. This place is good for the snorkeling, in fact from the this place we can watch the beauty of the sunset. From senggigi beach we can hire a boat to go to Gili Trawangan (gili islands). we can find also a lot of hotels and restaurants, including money changer.

Sengigi beach in 1980 - 1990 became the first tourism destination of Lombok island.

Diari backpacker ke Pulau Lombok hari kedua.

Setelah mengunjungi Makam Cina di kota Ampenan, kami meneruskan perjalanan menuju Pantai Senggigi. Kami tidak masuk ke pantai nya, tapi kami berhenti di daerah perbukitan yang tepat berada di atas Pantai senggigi. Dari sini kami bisa melihat dengan jelas suasana Pantai Senggigi.

Tempat ini demikian indah. Tempat ini terkenal dengan atraksi Snorkelingnya, dan juga kita bisa melihat suasana keindahan sunset dari tempat ini. Kita juga bisa menyewa kapal boat untuk menuju ke Pulau Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, dan Gili Air.

Dulu antara 1980 - 1990 an pantai ini menjadi ikon pulau Lombok.
